Since Saturday evening, heavy smoke and a smell of burning have been noticed in parts of Saarland. The Saarland integrated control centre therefore issued a warning to the public.
According to the information available so far, the smoke does not come from a major fire in Saarland, but is being carried into the region from the direction of Belgium.
The authorities have since updated the warning: according to the latest information, there is no danger to the public.
However, if smoke or smells become stronger, it is recommended as a precaution to keep windows and doors closed and to follow official information from the authorities.
Radio Tripoint will continue to follow developments and will report any new information.
